Christmas 2012

Merry Christmas

All I asked for Christmas was Time
This was one of the first Holiday Seasons I can remember every minute of the November/December happenings, and at my age and with my schedule, that was my best gift ever.  Jerren told me more than once I was organized. Which seems harder to do each year. Oh, how I have visions of retirement when I will have the time to spend with my kids, Elwood and my farm. I will have the best prepared meals and all my gifts will be wrapped with handmade bows.  Some folks talk of delaying retirement--more wampum the longer you work--and who can't use more wampum. But no, not me, not now. I have a grandson and Jerren and Pat have just moved five miles away. All I asked for Christmas was time and Santa was kind enough to grant me a month of holiday fun and the mind to remember every moment! From Thanksgiving on every day held special memories and our New Year's Night Annual Bon Fire is right around the corner-so the fun continues! For those who read my blog-I hope you had a Merry Christmas and every day is special in 2013-Happy New Year! XO D

Our Angel-it is so fun when the wrappings are just
as much fun as the gift.

11 Maple Street 12/22/12

Dinner at 11 Maple Street
And what a dinner!
Jimmy, Courtney, Will, Keara, Pat, Jerren, Joe and I met in quaint downtown Jensen Beach for cocktails at Crawdaddy's before heading to dine at 11 Maple Street. It was a beautiful, chilly night and Jensen was dressed for the holiday. The martinis were fabulous at Crawdaddy's. Their food smelled wonderful and the staff was so nice we will definitely go back there for dinner. We tore ourselves away from their outside heaters and walked the short block over to 11 Maple and the entire meal was uniquely delicious! Between the eight of us ordering, we were able to sample a variety of the appetizers, entrees, and desserts which makes 11 Maple famous. My favorites:
Wood grilled Kuorbuta pork ribs w/ Thai dipping sauce, the sauteed Maine spotted skatewing w/ Baja Bay scallops, the wood grilled Elk tenderloin and the pear crisp and peanutbutter pie. It all made for a special night with some very special people!!
We are ready for a very Merry Christmas!

J.J. Grey Concert 12/7/12

J.J. Grey
Friday, we got off work early and we all met at Jerren and Pat's to a real treat--several slabs of Tillman's ribs-
best BBQ ever!
We (Joe, me, Jimmy, Courtney, Pat, Jer, and Willie G rented a van and headed to the Bamboo Room in Lake Worth to see  J.J. Grey. (Thanks Willie G for being the DD.)
It was a great night-lots of laughs and many memories!
A good kick off for the holiday season!

CHRISTMAS BOAT PARADE
SATURDAY, DECEMBER 8th 2012

Saturday night we found the primo spot to anchor the pontoon boat and wait for the Christmas Boat Parade. We dropped anchor right in front of the Pelican Yacht Club on the inlet.  Every decorated boat came right up to our boat, did a spin, blew their horn, turned up their Christmas music, and the people on board waved like crazy! It was as we had our own personal display-little did we know that the parade judges were sitting in the crow's nest at the Pelican and we finally realized we were actually in the way.

The first boat of the parade
-it spun and turned just for us-we got to see it from all angles-
and thought we were pretty special!

My Personal Favorite!
